How to add your Stack Hosting email to Gmail app on Android

Note: These instructions are for the Gmail app on Android. Other Android mail apps follow a similar process, but the menus may look different.

1. Open Gmail settings

  • Open the Gmail app.
  • Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top left.
  • Scroll down and tap Settings.

2. Add another account

  • Tap Add account or Add another account.
  • Choose Other (not Google, Outlook, or another big provider).
  • If asked, choose Personal (IMAP) rather than POP3 or Exchange.

3. Enter your email and password

  • Enter your full email address (for example jo.smith@yourdomain.com).
  • Enter your mailbox password, then continue.

4. Enter server settings

When asked for incoming and outgoing servers, use:

Mail server settings

Use these details when the app asks for server settings. Username is always your full email address.

IMAP server (incoming) imap.stackmail.com
IMAP port 993
IMAP security SSL/TLS
SMTP server (outgoing) smtp.stackmail.com
SMTP port 465
SMTP security SSL/TLS

If prompted, set security to SSL/TLS for both incoming and outgoing, and use your full email address as the username.

5. Finish setup

  • Tap Next and wait for Gmail to verify the account.
  • Optionally set an account name and display name.
  • Tap Finish / Done.

Done. You should now be able to send and receive Stack Hosting email in the Gmail app.
