How to add your Stack Hosting email to Outlook on Windows (classic)

Note: These instructions are for classic Outlook on Windows (File menu). If you are using the redesigned Outlook with a Settings gear icon, follow the New Outlook for Windows guide instead.

1. Open Outlook

Launch the classic Outlook application on your Windows PC.

2. Add a new account

  • Go to File → Add Account.
  • Select Manual setup or additional server types, then click Next.

3. Choose IMAP

  • Select POP or IMAP (wording varies by Outlook version), then click Next.
  • Set Account Type to IMAP.

4. Enter your account details

  • Your Name: the name people should see on emails you send.
  • Email Address: your full email address (for example jo.smith@yourdomain.com).
  • User Name: the same full email address.
  • Password: your mailbox password.

Then enter these server settings:

Use these details when the app asks for server settings. Username is always your full email address.

IMAP server (incoming) imap.stackmail.com
IMAP port 993
IMAP security SSL/TLS
SMTP server (outgoing) smtp.stackmail.com
SMTP port 465
SMTP security SSL/TLS

5. Check More Settings

  • Click More Settings.
  • Open the Outgoing Server tab and tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • Open the Advanced tab and confirm incoming port 993 with SSL/TLS, and outgoing port 465 with SSL/TLS.
  • Click OK.

6. Test and finish

  • Click Next so Outlook can test the account.
  • When the test succeeds, click Finish.

Done. Your Stack Hosting email should now be available in classic Outlook on Windows.
